Alloy K-500 has approximately twice the tensile strength and triple the yield strength of Alloy 400. The strength of Alloy K-500 is maintained to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, but stays ductile and tough down to temperatures of -400 degrees Fahrenheit. Alloy K-500 also stays non-magnetic to -200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Additional characteristics of Alloy K-500 include outstanding corrosion resistance in a wide range of chemical and marine surroundings, from salts and alkalis, non-oxidizing acids to pure water. Alloy K-500 is non-magnetic and spark resistant. It is also recommended that Alloy K-500 be annealed when it is welded and that any weldments be stress relieved prior to aging.

Monel k500- Age-hardenable Nickel-Copper alloy which combines the corrosion resistance of Alloy 400 with high strength corrosion fatigue and erosion resistance.
Alloy K-500 is a nickel-copper alloy, precipitation hardenable through additions of aluminum and titanium. This alloy retains the excellent corrosion resistant characteristics of 400 and has enhanced strength and hardness after precipitation hardening when compared with 400. Alloy K-500 has approximately three (3) times the yield strength and double the tensile strength when compared with 400. K-500 can be further strengthened by cold working before the precipitation hardening.

2.Features: Monel K-500 combines Monel 400's excellent corrosion resistance with greater strength and hardness as a result of adding aluminum and titaniumand proper heat treatment to cause precipitation hardening. It is nonmagnetic at temperatures as low as -101ºC. Monel K-500 has excellent dimensional stability which is very useful in high precision devices. Like Monel 400, it does not undergo ductile-to-brittle transition at cryogenic temperatures as low as that of liquid hydrogen. Its tensile and yield strengths increase while ductility and toughness are only slightly impaired.
